Upload a video file from your mobile device to a computer (for IVS)

Instructions provided below describe one process that students can follow to transfer recordings from their mobile device to their personal computer in order to make a video file available to upload into the Intelligent Video Solution (IVS) application.

Required initial steps

  1. Access the appropriate App Store (ie. Apple Store, Google Play, etc) on your mobile device and search for the Google Drive app.  Load this app to your mobile device.
  2. Log into your UIndy or personal Google account in order to access Drive on your mobile device.
Upload a video file from your mobile device to Google Drive
  1. Record a video on your mobile device.
  2. See Google's documentation on storing and playing video in Google Drive. This includes directions for Android, iPhone, and iPad.

The upload process may take several minutes depending on the length of your video.

Download your video file from Google Drive to your computer
  1. Open Google Drive on your computer.
  2. See Google's documentation on downloading a file to Google Drive.
  3. The file can now be imported into IVS. See Using the Intelligent Video Solutions (IVS) Software for more details.
