Connect to the UIndy network via Ethernet cable

UIndy offers a complete WiFi network with many advanced features. Not all devices are suitable for wireless connection in multitenancy (multiple user) environments, such as residence halls and apartment buildings. Especially for older and economical devices, the best solution may be to connect to the UIndy network directly though the access point with an Ethernet cable.

All on-campus housing is outfitted wireless access points. On the bottom of these access points are Ethernet ports which can be used to establish a wired internet connection. By connecting to these ports (labeled LAN1, LAN2, or LAN3) directly with an Ethernet cable you will experience a much better performance of functions such as multiplayer online games and video streaming.
