Supporting Student Self-Assessment

Do you want to build more student self-assessment and reflection into your teaching? In this workshop I will introduce concrete ways in which you can incorporate student self-assessment into numerous contexts. We will examine literature connected to critical educational theory and progressive education, helping us position self-assessment as a means through which learners can gain power and voice. The second half of the workshop will be dedicated to supported design, please bring with you to our meeting a piece of curriculum (e.g. a lesson plan for a single class meeting, a project assignment sheet, etc.) into which you would like to incorporate a student self-assessment.
