Request or remove access to Banner Admin Pages

Banner is the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software product that UIndy licenses and uses. Banner allows us to record and maintain vast student, employee, and institutional data. Banner products provide the University with an integrated system for conducting the day-to-day business of the University and allow faculty, staff, and students access to information about their relationship with the University.

The data in Banner is the primary source information for many other systems.

The Banner system is accessed by most students and employees through UIndy Self-Service for registration, timesheets, etc. UIndy account-holders do not need to be granted special access to use UIndy Self-Service.

Alternately, some administrative users need access to Banner Admin Pages for day-to-day administrative record-keeping functions. In order to gain access to Banner Admin Pages, an employee must complete the Banner Authorization Form available in My UIndy. Basic training by a supervisor or as arranged by the appropriate Data Steward or Data Manager is required.

The Banner Authorization Form is used to request access for a new user, update current account permissions, or remove/suspend a current account.

  1. Navigate to https://my.uindy.edu/banner-cognos/
  2. Click Banner Authorization Form.
  1. A PDF will appear within your browser window or download to your computer. Complete the form and submit within an IT Help Desk ticket.

The Banner Authorization Form requires you to seek signatures from Data Stewards or Data Managers for each area of Banner to which you are requesting access. Given that, it may take a couple days to complete depending on the level of access you are requesting.
