Troubleshoot projection

This article is designed to help you troubleshoot any issues that may arise when projecting.

Know these tips:

  • To improve connectivity with the HDMI cable and adapter in the laptop's port, make sure there isn't unnecessary strain on the cable (ge.g. place the excess on the desk or stand).
  • Connect and turn on the laptop before turning on the projector; the projector is a "smart" device and immediately begins searching for devices that are connected to it.
  • Wait for the ON button on the control panel and the Power button on the projector (if you can see it) to stop blinking before pressing any other buttons on the control panel.  The system needs time to warm up.
  • When changing sources, such as moving from an HDMI connection to wireless presentation service, allow the system time to find the new choice after you push the button. This may take a few seconds.
  • To reset a system that is not projecting properly, press the OFF button and wait 2 to 3 minutes after the button stops blinking before restarting the system.

Troubleshoot display

Before troubleshooting the display, you will need to verify that the devices are connected to each other and communicating. Please see details below:

Windows 10
  1. Simultaneously press the Windows Key and P.
  2. Click on your display preference.
    • PC screen only (this shows your desktop on your computer screen only).
    • Duplicate (this shows your desktop on both your computer screen and connected display screen).
    • Extend (this allows you to extend your desktop from your computer screen to the connected display screen).
    • Second screen only (this shows your desktop only on the connected display screen).

For wired connections, if you cannot select the Duplicate, Extend, or Second screen only options, then your device is not connected and communicating with the flat panel or projector. Make sure your cable connections are secure. Sometimes restarting your computer will also resolve the issue.
