Use flat panels (by model number)

Several classroom and meeting spaces are equipped with flat panels that are able to display the screen of a device to aid with presentations. The following article is designed to provide instructions specific to the make and model of a flat panel (such as power, input, and volume controls).

LG - 49LF6300 / LG - 42LF5600
Depcits step 1

This model has one joystick button located under the LG logo at the bottom of the flat panel.

  1. Press and hold the joystick button to turn the flat panel on.
  2. With the flat panel on, press the joystick button to open a menu. This menu looks like a disk with four available options. The red highlighted area lets you know which section you're currently on.

  1. Use the joystick button to highlight the X option. Press the joystick button again to close the menu.
  2. Use the joystick button to highlight the power symbol. Press the joystick button again to turn the flat panel off.
  3. Use the joystick button to highlight the gear symbol.  Press the joystick button again to settings. This will expand a settings menu along the right side of the screen. The settings should not be adjusted by anyone other than UIndy IT.
  4. Use the joystick button to highlight the cord image. Press the joystick button again to get the Input menu. A separate input menu along the upper right side of the screen will appear. Once your desired source is highlighted press the joystick button to change the input source.
LG - 55LH40

The control panel for this model is located on the right side of flat panel when facing it.  

  1. Press the CH buttons to navigate vertically within a menu. Please note: this button will not function within the input menu.
  2. Press the VOL buttons to either adjust the sound levels or to navigate horizontally within a menu.
  3. Press the ENTER button when you wish to select a highlighted option within a menu.
  4. The settings should not be adjusted by anyone other than UIndy IT.
  5. Press the INPUT button to change the source that will be projected.  Please note: once this menu is open you will only have a few seconds to navigate. When this menu closes the input source will automatically switch to whichever one is highlighted.
  6. Press the power icon button to turn the panel on and off
LG - 60LN5400 / LG - 47LN5400

The control panel for this model is located on the right side of flat panel when facing it.

  1. Press the CHANNEL buttons to navigate vertically within a menu.
  2. Press the VOLUME buttons to either adjust the sound levels or to navigate horizontally within a menu.
  3. Press the OK button when you wish to select a highlighted option within a menu.
  4. The settings should not be adjusted by anyone other than UIndy IT.
  5. Press the INPUT button to change the source that will be projected. Please note: once this menu is open you will only have a few seconds to navigate. When this menu closes the input source will automatically switch to whichever one is highlighted on the screen.
  6. Press the power icon button to turn the panel on and off.

This model has a single button controller located beneath the LG logo centered at the bottom of the panel. This button will be used to operate all functions. Quick press the button to move along the menu and highlight a feature and long press to make a selection.

  1. Long press the button to power on.

  1. Selecting this option will power the device off.
  2. Selecting this option will provide options to change the video input source.
  3. Selecting these options will change the volume.
  4. Selecting these options will change the channel.
Samsung - UN65J6200 / Samsung - UN55J6200AF
Depcts flat panel toggle switch

This model has one joystick button located at the bottom right of the panel. This is beneath the red light that appears when the device is powered off.

  1. Press and hold the joystick button to turn the flat panel on.
  2. Use the joystick button to highlight the return arrow symbol. Press the joystick button again to select and close the menu.
  3. Use the joystick button to highlight the power symbol. Press the joystick button again to turn off the flat panel.
  4. Use the joystick button to highlight the source input symbol. Press the joystick button again to change your source input.
  5. Use the joystick button to highlight the cube symbol. Press the joystick button again to access the Smart Hub. This feature is not recommended.
  6. The segmented rectangle symbol is the settings feature and should not be adjusted by anyone other then UIndy IT.
Samsung - UN65NU7100F / Samsung - RU7100

This model has a single button controller located beneath the Samsung logo centered at the bottom of the panel. This button will be used to operate all functions. Quick press the button to move along the menu and highlight a feature and long press to make a selection.
