Install MirrorOp on your laptop

Wireless presentation is a service available on most flat panels and projectors. This service allows for devices to connect wirelessly to flat panels and projectors in most meeting spaces and classrooms on campus. Using this service can be done through the MirrorOp app. Once you download the MirrorOp app on your device, you may access the service from UIndy, UIndySecure, or UIndyGuest wireless networks.

  1. Navigate to the MirrorOp download site.
  2. Click the Download now button.

You will be given the option to pick which driver and firmware to select based on which operating system you use.

MirrorOp for Windows
  1. Click the Download file button next to "Installer (.msi) for MirrorOp Windows Sender."

  1. Open the recently downloaded msi file by double-clicking on it.

  1. A Windows Security Alert message may appear. Make sure the box next to Domain networks, such as a workplace network is checked.
  2. Click Allow access.

  1. A "New version available" message may appear. Click Download and Update.

Setup Wizard

  1. At the welcome message, click Next.

  1. Check the box next I accept the terms in the License Agreement.
  2. Click Next.

  1. The next message automatically checks the box next to Enable.
  2. Click Next.

The status of your install appears next. Your computer may ask you to confirm that you want to make changes to your device.

  1. Once the install has completed, click Finish.

MirrorOp for MacOS
  1. Find Application for MirrorOp Mac Sender. Click Download file button.

  1. Click on Downloads through the Mac dock.

  1. Click and open the dmg file.

  1. Once launched, drag the MirrorOp icon onto the Applications folder.

  1. To launch, double-click on the MirrorOp icon now located in the system's Applications folder.

Big Sur or greater operating system

If you are on Big Sur or greater operating system, you may encounter a black screen. To fix this, you will need to perform the following steps:

  1. Open your System Preferences.
  2. Click Security and Privacy and then Privacy. 
  3. Under Enable Location Services and to the right of System Services, click Details.

  1. On the menu to the left, scroll down to select Screen Recording.
  2. Click the padlock icon for an Administrator login (if prompted, use your UIndy username and password).
  3. Check the box next to MirrorOp.

  1. A warning message will appear. Click Quit Now.

  1. Launch MirrorOp again to begin wireless presentation.
  1. Upon the initial launch, a pop-up window will ask you to confirm if you would like to open the program. Click Open and then the program will launch.
