Post to the Community in the UIndy Mobile App

The Community is a dedicated digital space within the UIndy Mobile App where members of the UIndy community are able to post and share information. This article will outline the process of posting to the Community

If you don't already have the app, you can search the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for UIndy.

Add post to the Community

Community posts can be made from an individual account or by a department account. See below for steps on how to post from an individual account. Details on departmental account posts are listed separately.

  1. Launch the UIndy mobile app on your device.

  1. Tap the speech bubble icon, located on the lower ribbon of the app.

  1. To make a post on the Campus Wall: tap on the What's on Your Mind? text located near the top of the screen.

  1. Tap on the What's on Your Mind? text, to replace it with the text you wish to post.
  2. Tap on the camera icon to add an image, flyer, or another infographic to your post.
  3. When your post is ready, tap the Post link (iOS) or send icon (Android) located in the upper right corner of the screen to submit your post to the Community.

Add a community post from a departmental account

A departmental account can post by using Campus Cloud (the administrative website on a computer) or by using the UIndy Mobile App (on a mobile device). See below for steps on posting on a mobile device from a departmental account.

  1. After step 2 from above, tap the three horizontal lines on the top left corner.

  1. Click the drop-down arrow next to your name.

  1. Search the department that you are an admin for and tap on the appropriate department.

  1. You will now see the departmental icon/image instead of your own (alternately, you can click on the three horizontal lines menu to see the name of the department). Follow steps 4-6 from above to complete your post.

Once the Post/send button has been tapped any information added to a post will be made public to the Community within the UIndy mobile app. Refer to Remove my Community post, in the event that you need to delete your post. Alternatively you may edit your post by following the instruction in Edit my Community post.

Remove my Community post

The following steps outline the process for removing your own post from the UIndy Mobile App Community. If you find something on the Community to be inappropriate, you may flag the post as inappropriate.

  1. Navigate to the Community in the UIndy Mobile app and locate the post you wish to remove on the Campus Wall.
  2. Tap the three vertical dots in the lower right corner of your post.

  1. Tap Delete.

  1. You will be asked to verify that you want to delete your post. Tap YES.

  1. Your post will now be deleted.
Edit my Campus Wall post

These steps outline the process of editing a post you have made to the Campus Wall.

  1. Locate the post on the Campus Wall you would like to edit.
  2. Tap the three vertical dots which are found in the lower right corner of your post.

  1. Tap Edit Post.

  1. You will be redirect to an editable version of your post.
  2. If applicable, tap an image in your post to edit images.
  3. To edit your image, tap the desired option:
    • Delete Photo allows you to remove an image from your post.
    • Take Photo allows you to replace an image with a photo taken by your device's camera.
    • Choose From Library allows you to replace an image with another image file from your device.

  1. Alternatively, tap the camera icon to add a new image to your post.
  2. Tap the text of your post to make any edits.
  3. Once all of your edits have been made, tap the send icon located in the upper right corner of the screen to submit your edited post to the Campus Wall.

  1. Once you submit your edited post, all changes will automatically be applied to your post and these changes will be made public.
