Claim your UIndy account

Claiming your UIndy account will give you access to UIndy systems, including but not limited to:  Google Workspace, Brightspace, UIndy Self-Service, campus print release stations, lab computers, Office 365, and online library services.

Please Note - You can only claim your account after the following conditions have been met:

  • Students: Have received confirmation from Undergraduate or Graduate Admissions that admission process has been completed and any required deposit has been paid. Former UIndy students who are returning to complete their degree will need to be registered for a class by their advisor to regain access to their UIndy account. 
  • Employees: Must have employment paperwork processed by Human Resources.

To claim your UIndy account navigate to

Complete Your User Information

  1. Click the Claim Your Account button.

Enter your user information

  1. Enter your First Name, Last Name, Birth Date, and  City in the respective fields (information should match what was on your UIndy application for admission).
  2. Click Submit when you are finished.

Review and accept terms of use

  1. Read through the Systems & Network Usage Policy and click the Accept button when done.

  1. Click the Next button to continue configuring your Security Questions and Passwords for the first time.

Manage secret questions

Secret Questions are security questions that you will be asked to answer if you are unable to use the Reset Your Password tool.

  1. Select secret questions by clicking on the pencil icon and then select a question from the drop-down menu
  2. Enter your answers in the respective fields.
  3. Click the Submit button.

Create and confirm your new password

Before setting your password, read through the password rules. To view requirements necessary for creating and maintaining password security on all UIndy Accounts, review the UIndy Password Policy.

  1. Enter your password in the "New Password" field.
  2. Re-type the  password in the "Re-type Password" field.
  3. Click the Reset Password button.

A window will appear showing that your password is being set. It may take a few minutes to finalize.

A warning message will appear requiring you to set up your profile.

  1. Click the Close button.

My Profile: Personal Information

  1. Enter your mobile phone number in the "Mobile Phone" field.
  2. Enter your alternate email in the "Alternate Email" field.
  3. Click the Submit button.

You may update this information, as needed in the future, by navigating to and clicking the Update My Profile button.

  1. A window will appear with your request has been submitted. Click the Close button.

Be sure to logout of your account by selecting the power icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
